Review:
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is a facility devoted to animal preservation and education and is the only zoo in the country located on the side of a mountain. The zoo has more than 750 animals from over 150 species. The animal exhibits are separated by region and include a section devoted to the creatures of the Rocky Mountains.
The zoo also has a number of kid-friendly rides and attractions, as well as educational presentations and opportunities to interact with the animals up close. Additionally, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is home to a stone tower known as the Will Rogers Monument. This landmark commemorates the death of Will Rogers and opens up gorgeous views onto Pikes Peak and Colorado Springs.
