Best Time to Visit Statesboro, GA

From my experience, the spring and fall (March–May and September–November) are ideal times to visit. You’ll enjoy mild temps that are perfect for exploring the parks and campus. Summer can be toasty, but I’ve had fun days at the water park. And if you come in winter, expect peace and quiet—it’s a great time to unwind.

How to Get to Statesboro, GA

  • If you are traveling by car: I’ve driven in from both Savannah and Atlanta—it’s a scenic hour from Savannah or about 3.5 hours from Atlanta, straight along U.S. Route 301.
  • By Air: When I fly in, I use Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV). After landing, it’s an easy 50-minute drive to Statesboro—I’ve done it many times.
  • By Bus: I’ve also used regional shuttles from Atlanta and Savannah when I didn’t want to rent a car. Southeastern Stages makes the trip pretty seamless.

  • Home2 Suites by Hilton Statesboro – I’ve stayed here when I wanted a little more space and a kitchen. If you like modern, comfy suites close to campus, this one’s for you.
  • Hampton Inn Statesboro – This is my go-to for reliable comfort and a good breakfast. The pool’s a nice bonus when I’m visiting in warmer months.
  • The Inn at Statesboro – I’ve booked this spot for a budget-friendly stay right near the university. If you want something walkable and simple, it’s a solid choice.
