Rooms & Suites
All rooms at WaterColor Inn and Resort are lavish, large and comfortable. Every room has a kingsized bed fitted with fine Egyptian cotton linens, ceiling fans, high-speed Internet, iPod docking stations, coffee makers, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, mini-fridges, writing desks, a comfortable sitting area and a daily newspaper at the door. Rooms receive maid service twice daily as well as turndown service at bedtime, and complimentary valet parking is offered to all guests.
The Beach Front Dune View Rooms on the first floor have private patios with Adirondack chairs, and are literally steps from the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. An outdoor cabana shower keeps sandy feet clean, and swimming pools are just around the corner. These rooms have a double sleeper sofa and large walk-in showers.
The Beach Front Coastal View Rooms on the second floor have private balconies with Adirondack chairs overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. A double sleeper sofa and a large walk-in shower complete these comfortable rooms.
The Water Front Gulf View Rooms on the third floor have private balconies with clear views of the Gulf of Mexico, and Adirondack chairs to sit in. The large walk-in showers in these rooms have windows that look out onto the Gulf. These rooms have a double sleeper sofa for extra guests.
The Premium Water Front Gulf View Rooms on the third floor have excellent views of the Gulf of Mexico from the private balcony, and have a queensized sleeper sofa. The WaterColor Inn’s rotunda has sumptuous rooms with wrap-around balconies overlooking the Gulf. Both the Rotunda Gulf View Rooms and the Rotunda Water Front Beach View Room offer panoramic seascapes and queen sized sleeper sofas.
WaterColor Inn is accessible to guests with disabilities. Most public areas are wheelchair-accessible, service animals are welcome and accessible guest rooms have roll-in showers, visual fire alarms, televisions with closed-captioning and doors with a 32” clearance.
Dining at WaterColor Inn and Resort
WaterColor Inn and Resort stands behind its commitment to local produce, fishand meats that have been grown sustainably. Its fine dining restaurant, Fish out of Water, is the recipient of many culinary awards, and specializes in fish and meat dishes. It has an exceptional wine list, a deck for seating when weather permits, tremendous Gulf views, and a lounge offering cocktails, wine and a selection of local seafood.
The Gathering Spot is WaterColor Inn’s casual beach house restaurant, which features informal fare such as sandwiches, salads and fresh sushi. The BeachClub Grille is a Gulf-front patio oasis providing poolside dining. Its menu consists of burgers, sandwiches, salads and cocktails. Close at hand to the swimming pools is Rita’s Bar, which proffers speciality cocktails and a beautiful view of the Gulf of Mexico. In-room dining is also available, and its menu consists of favorites from all of the inn’s restaurants.
Golf
Camp Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72, 7,151 yard golf course in a wetland setting. It offers practice facilities, a putting green, a golf shop and a grill.
The Shark’s Tooth Golf Club is set on the shores of Lake Western, and offers a course set between wetlands and forest. It is an 18-hole, par 72, 7,204 yard course. The club has a 10 acre practice facility, a golf shop, beverage service and a tennis facility.
Spa
There is a full-service spa and a salon that provides a range of services. Body treatments are great favorites with guests, and several specialty treatments are available. The Zen Glow treatment uses cane sugar as an exfoliator and soothes the body with warm coconut milk mixed with macadamia oil. A body butter is then applied, rich with A, B, C and E vitamins, and warm and enriching coconut oil is rubbed into the hair and scalp.
The Seascape Serenity treatment starts with a full body scrub and continues with a body wrap of nourishing green sea algae. While the body wrap is on, the esthetician provides a light scalp and foot massage, and following the wrap, gives a complete massage with the guest’s choice of aromatherapy oils.
The Paint it Lavender treatment uses a wild lavender body scrub and a glycolic peppermint lotion to soften and sooth the skin.
The WaterColor Custom Facial starts with a thorough skin analysis, and provides exfoliation, serum and masks chosen specially for each guest’s needs.
The Ultimate Facial uses bio-peptides to plump the skin and to increase its firmness, and stimulates cellular growth with a plant-based serum. This facial treats and downplays fine lines and wrinkles.
The Plump and Peel Facial combines microdermabrasion and a lactic peel to rejuvenate the skin. The esthetician applies a serum made of youth-enhancing peptides of Vitamin C, green tea and cucumber, and exfoliates and smooths the skin.
The SC Peel Facial utilizes glycolic acid to minimize fine lines and rough skin.
Many traditional massage methods are used at the WaterColor Inn’s spa, including Swedish massage, hot stone treatment, deep tissue massage, scalp massage with warm coconut oil, foot massage with peppermint glycolic oil, and a massage geared to prenatal care.
The Jade Ritual Massage removes dead skin from the feet with crushed rice and soothes the body with an essential oil made of lemongrass and coconut. After the massage, hot jade stones are placed on the back and neck to relieve tension.
The Body Polish Massage starts with a micro-algae scrub infused with Indonesian ginger. This aromatic scrub exfoliates the skin and relaxes the mind. The scrub is followed by a massage with warm ginger oil.
Vacation Activities
There is something for everyone at WaterColor Inn and Resort. Towel and beach chair service is available for guests wishing to swim in the Gulf of Mexico, Lake Western or in one of the six pools that dot the property. There is an adult-only pool, and the Camp WaterColor Pool which is geared to children, with shallow water and fountains.
The Sandhill Pool is flanked on two sides with giant mosaic frogs from which water fountains spray the bathers with water. The BeachClub Pool has multiple levels to lounge on, and is nearby the grill and Rita’s Bar. Guests can find shade under palm trees next to The Marina Pool. The Dragonfly Pool is the largest of the hotel’s pools, and sports wide decks upon which to relax.
The resort’s fitness center offers personal training, a wide variety of fitness machines and free weights, as well as cardio equipment, yoga, Pilates, body sculpting classes and personal training. The fitness center is equipped with showers, changing rooms and lockers.
Beach lovers will enjoy the 1400 foot Gulf of Mexico beach front, and the opportunities to kayak, canoe and paddle board near the beautiful sugar sand beaches. Additionally, electric boat rides and fishing charters are on offer at the resort, bicycles are available for exploring the riding trails through forest and wetland, and there are hiking opportunities abound. The resort has beach bonfires, family movie night, a library of DVDs to borrow for in-room viewing and acres of beautiful gardens and parks to stroll in.
There are a variety of shops within WaterColor Inn & Resort. Guests looking for resort wear or something more upscale will enjoy The Barefoot Princess, Island Clothiers, Beachfolly and The Fuss, whilehigh-end children’s clothing is for sale at Little Red. WaterColor Workout sells fitness gear, and the nature lover and fishing fan will find everything necessary at Old Florida Outfitters. The Blue Giraffe is an art and gift boutique; The Candy Bar serves hand-dipped ice cream, fresh cotton candy, and homemade chocolate; and WaterBugs is the place to go to find beachwear, water toys and beach towels.
Camp WaterColor is a day program designed for guests aged 3-12. Campers will enjoy swimming, fishing, paddle boarding, games, crafts and other fun activities.
Weddings
WaterColor Inn and Resort is the perfect place to get married, and there are many venues to choose from. WaterColor Beach is the best choice for guests who dream of marrying barefoot in the sand with the Gulf of Mexico as a backdrop. The WaterColor Inn Green surrounds couples and families with plants and dunes for an idyllic outdoor wedding, while Cerulean Park is a beautiful venue combining butterfly gardens, cascading fountains and serene reflecting pools. Indoors, couples can marry in the elegant Room One, or in rustic splendor with high ceilings and exposed beams at The Boathouse on Western Lake. The LakeHouse offers cedar-lined walls, stunning chandeliers and a catering kitchen.
Receptions can be held indoors or out, and the resort has professional wedding planners to help couples choose the ideal setting. The inn provides catering, custom-designed cakes, floral design services, photography and entertainment co-ordination, to ensure that every couple has the day they have always dreamed of.
Meetings
WaterColor Inn (video) has 4,000 square feet of dedicated meeting space for all types of business gatherings, large or small. Function is important, but the inn also provides beauty with scenic backdrops of the gulf, the lake or the resort’s many gardens.
