The Casements, a gorgeous mansion in the heart of Ormond Beach, has a shining reputation as the “jewel” of the community. This historic building, which has since been restored to its full splendor and sits right on the banks of the Halifax River, was once the winter house of magnate John D. Rockefeller. Today, it stands as the cultural center of the Ormond Beach community, an official Florida Heritage Site and listed on the National Historic Register. The Casements includes several exhibits of cultural and historical memorabilia, which are open to curious visitors, who can explore the mansion and its grounds on a guided tour.
