Located in Pass-A-Grille’s National Historic District, the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum traces the history of southern Florida’s barrier islands. Built in 1917 as the first church in the St. Petersburg/Clearwater barrier islands, the now-turned house museum features several interesting exhibits of photographs, news clippings, artifacts, and objects, some dating back to the 1500s. Notable exhibits in the museum include the story of Silas Dent, the Hermit of Cabbage Key, extensive postcard collections, a World War II exhibit, and Don Cesar artifacts. The Gulf Beaches Historical Museum has a gift shop selling books, cards, and souvenirs.
