Review:

Visitors in Delray looking for a quiet getaway should head over to the Leon M. Weekes Environmental Preserve. This nature reserve protects Florida’s native ecosystems and endangered subtropical forest ecoregions. The park sits in southwestern Delray Beach and contains nature trails, a pavllion, playground, and parking lot. The preserve consists of many rare plant species of the Florida Scrub Pinelands that only exist in the region. Guests may also spot a Florida scrub jay, a species of bird endemic to the region. The local fire department maintains the area through controlled fires.
