Located on the south side of the island, Smathers Beach is the largest public beach in Key West and offers a tranquil spot to escape the bustling crowds of Duvall Street and Mallory Square. The beach begins at mile marker zero, is lined with coconut trees and has a walking and biking path that runs the length of the beach and the Atlantic Ocean and offers beautiful scenic views. Well known for being popular with the Spring Break crowd, the beach offers an array of amenities, including volleyball courts, jet ski rentals, shower facilities, restrooms, and free parking.
