The Neal Preserve in Bradenton, Florida is comprised approximately 120 acres made up of both oak hammock uplands and coastal habitats like salt terns and mangrove forests. There are also several opportunities for passive outdoor recreations, such as the boardwalks winding through the site’s coastal environment, shell trails, and the 20-foot-tall observation tower. Visitors will walk through the Neal Preserve and imagine what the Native American culture was like that once occupied the land as they pass reconstructed burial mounds that are part of an “open air museum.” Pets and off-trail bicycling are not permitted due to the habitat’s sensitive nature.
