Review:

Formerly one of the oldest farms in Holland Michigan, the historic Van Raalte Farm has been converted into a park and recreation area. The original 1872 farmhouse has been preserved along with two vintage barns, and part of the house is now used as a Nature Center. One of the most outstanding features of the park is the flamboyant grove of maple trees which were planted by the original farm owners. Today a Sugar Shack has been added, where visitors can learn all about the harvesting of maple syrup. Visitors are always welcome to come and explore the extensive hiking trails, the picnic shelter and the children’s playground. In winter the park is popular for cross-country skiing and sledding.
