Review:

Located along a secluded section of the Lake Michigan shore, the Saugatuck Dunes State Park covers over 1000 acres along 2.5 miles of shoreline. Here visitors will find some impressive coastal dunes, some of which are over 200 feet tall. From the parking and picnic area you can reach the long stretch of beach via a 0.6 mile hike. The park is day-use only and attracts many hikers who come to explore 13 miles of sandy trails. The trails can be steep as you traverse the rolling hills and inclines of the dunes. The trails vary from less than 1 mile (to the beach) to 5.5 miles along the South Trail. This park is also very popular with bird watchers.
