Review:

Located in an elevated position on Look Out Mountain, Cravens House is an iconic Chattanooga landmark. The original house dated back to before the Civil War and was used as strategic headquarters by the Confederates during the Civil War. Unfortunately, the original home was almost completely destroyed after the Battle of Lookout Mountain. The building you see today was built by the Cravens family after the Civil War, in 1865. You can tour the historic property in summer – there are historic markers which explain how the historic battle unfolded. The site offers excellent views and you can enjoy some very scenic hiking in the surrounding mountains.
