The Providence Athenaeum is a unique and independent library and cultural center that encourages an appreciation for books and all things literature-related.

Based in the historic Greek Revival building that was originally founded as "The Athenaeum" in 1836, the center endeavors to encourage and inspire the public with a passion for literature and reading, and they hope to engage others in conversation by presenting a range of extraordinary collections and innovative programs.
