Wormsloe Historic Site is a colonial estate once owned by Noble Jones, a carpenter who came to Georgia with James Oglethorpe in 1733. Sheltered by Spanish moss and live oaks, a beautiful avenue leads visitors to Wormsloe’s tabby ruins, Savannah’s oldest standing structure. Guests to Wormsloe Historic Site today are able to interact with a number of historical interpreters during events and programs, as well as watch a film about the historic site and view numerous artifacts that have been unearthed at the site. There is also an interpretive nature trail leading past the ruins to the Colonial Life Area.
