Review & FAQ:
Located on Key Highway in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood near Inner Harbor, the American Visionary Art Museum focuses on “outsider art,” which is also sometimes referred to as “raw art” or “intuitive art.” The museum contains 67,000 square feet of space in which it exhibits its permanent collection of about 4,000 pieces of artwork.
In addition to the museum’s main exhibition area, there are several other points of interest throughout its one-acre campus, including the Jim Rouse Visionary Center, which hosts events and large exhibitions, as well as the Tall Sculpture Barn and the Wildflower Garden.
