The land in which you’ll find Beardsley’s Cider Mill & Orchard has been owned and operated by the Beardsley family since 1849. Originally, it was a dairy farm, and everything from hay to turkeys has been raised there. Currently, Beardsley’s has over 400 peach, nectarine, and plum trees and over 10,000 dwarf apple trees. They offer the perfect pick-your-own orchard experience for the entire family to enjoy. Apple varieties which you’ll find there include gala, honey crisp, empire, liberty, red delicious, and the deep, dark red enterprise apple among many others. Be sure to try their array of cider and hard cider while you’re there as well.

4.Indian Well State Park, Shelton, Connecticut
Situated on the banks of Lake Housatonic, Indian Well State Park is a stunning outdoor recreation area which spans over 153 acres. There are several scenic views you can enjoy as you explore the park such as looking over the lake at sunset, but none compare to the beautiful 15-foot horsetail waterfalls which drops into a splash pool at the base. 5.Shelton Lakes Recreation Path
The Shelton Lakes Recreation Path, popularly known as Rec Path, is a multi-use trail which can be found in the heart of Shelton. Since its completion in 2012 residents and visitors have flocked there for a leisurely to moderate stroll. The path, which is 8 to 12 feet wide, is handicapped accessible and will take you from Pine Lake through the dam at Silent Waters and to an overlook of the Hope Lake Dam. You’re sure to see some amazing views as you hike or bike your way through the park. Pack a lunch and stop at the picnicking area near Hope Lake for a meal with a view.

7.Osbornedale State Park, Shelton, Connecticut
Located within the Naugatuck Valley Hills, Osbornedale State Park is a gorgeous wilderness area which was once a lush hunting grounds for the Paugussett Indians.
