Great Lameshur Bay is another of St. John Island’s remote and quiet beaches, mostly frequented by locals and their friends. The best way to reach this beach is by 4X4, although some intrepid visitors drive their cars along the twisting and turning dirt road to get there. The beach is made up of mostly pebbles, so not too great for sun bathing. Great Lameshur Bay mainly attracts those who enjoy not having to share the beach with a crowd. It also offers memorable snorkeling (for accomplished snorkelers only!), but conditions can be dangerous depending on the tides and wave size.
