As the province's capital city, Historic Charlottetown has no shortage of historic buildings and landmark sites. Visitors can explore the streets by foot, by car, or by bicycle, but the best way to experience the beauty of the city is to take a carriage ride through the side streets of the historic city center. A must-see area is Victoria Row; the street is closed to car traffic during the summer, and it offers an excellent selection of shops and restaurants. There is also a variety of walking tours available to visitors, some of which are conducted by guides dressed in full period costume.
