Located in the middle of Monterey, California’s Cannery Row, McAbee Beach is a scenic spot in the city near many hotels and restaurants. DUring the summer months and lower tides, there is plenty of sand for visitors to have fun in the sun. During higher tides, McAbee Beach becomes a small cove featuring smooth boulders, with still enough sand to remain a beach. Walking on the beach and shopping along the waterfront are popular activities on sunny days, as well as sitting on the rocks situated behind McAbee Beach. Kayakers and scuba divers also frequent the beach during the right conditions.
