The Cooper-Molera Adobe, located in downtown Monterey, is a place that aims to bring history “back to life.” A National Historic Landmark in the Old Town Historic District, the building dates back to the year 1827 and is listed as a National Trust Historic Site. Surrounded by a historic adobe wall, The Cooper-Molera Adobe consists of beautiful grounds and gardens, a barn complex, an adobe warehouse, a corner store, and two adobe homes set on approximately two and a half acres. The complex represents the city’s layered history of families who lived in Monterey and helped build the city.
