Each year, in the San Francisco Bay Area, a special event is held to bring talented sandcastle and sand sculpture creators together and pit them against one another in a fascinating and always-enjoyable sandcastle building competition. The event, known as the Leap Sandcastle Classic, is an exciting event, with many teams in attendance and thousands of spectators cheering them on and admiring their work from the sidelines.
Typically, teams consist of designers, architects, and engineers, but can also include students and other individuals from all walks of life. Judges walk around during the show, handing out prizes to the best teams. Each year, the Leap Sandcaslte Classic has a fun theme for all the participants to focus on.
