Review:

The house was built by Jerome Ford for his bride, Martha, in 1854. He was the superintendent of the first mill in the area and thought to be a founder of Mendocino. The Ford House Museum & Visitor Center is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. It is situated in the main street of Mendocino and also serves as the Information Center for the Mendocino Headlands State Park. A scale model of Mendocino, circa 1890, is one of the permanent exhibits. Artifacts belonging to the Pomo Indians and tools used in the logging trade on display. Seasonal displays depict the wildlife and mushrooms found in the area.
