The Red Car Museum celebrates the heydays of Seal Beach, when fun lovers flocked there (by train) to enjoy fun in the sun. Visitors came from near and far to enjoy the giant roller coaster, gambling dens, rum runners and more. There was even a Bathing Pavilion with 1000 dressing rooms. To get there, visitors used the Red Car on the Pacific Electric LA- Newport Line. Today the Red Car Museum is located inside the 1925 Pacific Electric Tower Car which was used to service the railroad until 1950. The small museum is well worth a look and is full of maps, photos, sea shells, Indian artifacts and other items of interest.
