The Iron Horse Trail is a disused railway track that has been converted to a rail trail through California’s East Bay Area. It mostly follows what was once the route of the Southern Pacific Railway and will give you the chance to see some stunning views of Contra Costa counties and inland central Alameda. Walking, biking, and horse riding is allowed on the trail, making it a great multi-use space that the entire family can enjoy. Be on the lookout for some historic aspects along the way such as the converted railroad bridge which crosses over Walnut Creek.
