A visit to Fairfield’s American Armory Museum is a must-do activity for anyone interested in American military history. Here visitors will find impressive displays of military vehicles, uniforms and arms which span more than 100 years and all major conflicts. The exhibits include General George S. Patton’s 1943 Command Jeep and an exceptionally rare WWII Achilles Tank, among many other treasures. Visitors can get up close to all the exhibits and may even enter some of the bigger exhibits for unique photos with uniformed mannequins. The museum is free to enter for anyone in the armed forces and is open from Wednesday to Saturday.
