Set on the east shore of Maui, Koki Beach Park is a beautiful but rugged beach with a unique mixture of white, black, and red sand. The beach varies dramatically from season to season; during the summer, there is a wide sandy beach for visitors to enjoy, but most of this sand is removed by the tide during the winter. No lifeguards are on duty here, and swimming is generally not advisable because of the beach's unprotected location and strong rip currents.
