Review:

A half-mile stretch of sandy shoreline welcomes locals and visitors to Massachusetts’ Singing Beach. The fascinating name of this beach is derived from the fact that the sands seem to make a squeaking sound as you walk on them – this phenomenon is due to the specific size, shape and contours of the sand granules when it is slightly damp.

To find out for yourself if the sands really do sing you need to spend a day or two exploring this pretty beach which boasts an old-fashioned bath house, restrooms and snack bar which was built in the 1920’s.

There is a designated swimming area and lifeguards are on duty in season.
