Review & FAQ:
One of Japan's three most beautiful landscape gardens, Kenroku-en was created by the royal Maeda family and has been open to the public since 1871. More than 180 different species of plants can be found here, and they have been carefully arranged so that the gardens have a different look for each season. In addition to the 11.4 hectares of gardens, the property is home to the oldest fountain in Japan, a teahouse that dates back to 1774, and the beautiful Kaiseki Pagoda. The gardens are open all throughout the year from dawn until dusk, and an entrance fee is charged.
