Review & Frequenly Asked Questions:

Operating since the early 30’s, Page Springs Fish Hatchery is known as the country’s largest state-run hatchery. Every year, the 273-acre hatchery contributes about 750,000 fish for Arizona’s ponds, streams, and lakes. Located along Lower Oak Creek, the area is not only home marine wildlife, but is also identified as an Important Bird Area by the Audubon Society. As a result, the hatchery brings in thousands of visitors and wildlife-watching enthusiasts. As visitors walk through the nature trail that curves through the hatchery and creek, they’ll be able to spot a great number of animals such as river otter and great blue herons. Occasionally, visitors may even catch a glimpse of mules, foxes, mountain lions, and even black bears in the surrounding elevated landscapes.
