Little River Canyon National Preserve is a United States National Preserve which was created in 1992 by an Act of Congress.

The 15,288-acre preserve can be found situated on top of Lookout Mountain, a famous mountain ridge in the northeast corner of Alabama. One of the area’s main features is the Little River, which contrary to its name, is believed to be the longest mountain top river in the nation.

Some of the activities you can participate in while there are fishing, limited hunting with appropriate licenses, and backcountry camping, which is allowed in only three specific locations on the preserve.
