The The Bessemer Hall of History Museum was established in 1969 and allows visitors to relive the history of the area through books, photographs, objects, and other artifacts. Visitors will be able to see an array of items in their exhibitions, many with significant historical value such as the cell block door from the prison in which Martin Luther King, Jr. was incarcerated, Hitler’s typewriter, which may very well have been used to write passages of Mein Kampf, an original box car display, and much more. It’s a fun and educational way for the entire family to spend the day while in Bessemer.
