Lake Tholocco covers more than 670 acres along the northwest perimeter of Fort Rucker, the home of Army Aviation. The area surrounding the lake provides (authorized) visitors with a huge recreation area where you can enjoy a wide variety of summer activities. (Military personnel and their families enjoy reduced rates at Fort Rucker). There are specially designated beach areas where swimming is allowed and if you enjoy boating and fishing you can make use of three boat launch areas. Fun lakeside facilities include four fishing piers (license required), adult and children’s water slides, boat rentals and more. Engineer Beach RV Park offers 43 RV campsites for camping enthusiasts.
