Locals often call Alabama “The Heart of Dixie,” and after traveling through it by RV, I can see why. If you enjoy exploring new places on wheels like I do, you’ll find that this state has a lot more variety than you might expect.

From the peaceful Gulf Coast beaches to the wide-open plains in the center of the state, and all the way up to the Smoky Mountain foothills in the north—there’s always something new to see. I’ve loved how one drive can take you from sandy shoreline to scenic mountain views without missing a beat.

What makes it even better is the number of great RV parks and campgrounds I’ve come across. Whether you’re planning a full vacation or just need a cozy overnight stop, you’ll find plenty of spots with all the features and amenities you need. For me, Alabama has become one of those go-to states I always look forward to returning to.
