The 1,110-acre Mohican State Park is surrounded by the Mohican-Memorial State Forest and is home to a wide range of plant and animal species, including the rare walking fern. The Clear Fork of the Mohican River runs through the park, and over time it has cut through the sandstone to form the stunning Clear Fork Gorge. The moderately difficult 2-mile-long Lyons Fall Trail winds along the gorge and offers the opportunity to see two waterfalls. There are also five other hiking trails in the park, ranging in difficulty from easy to challenging. Together they total 13 miles.
