The Pottawatomie Lighthouse is a lighthouse on Rock Island that is also known locally as the Rock Island Lighthouse. It’s one of the area’s oldest lighthouse and was constructed in the early 1800s to help aid boaters navigating the passage between St. Martin Island and Rock Island. You can reach the lighthouse by taking a ferry from Washington Island and then hiking an enjoyable 1.2 miles. The lighthouse is open for tours each day during summer. Take the opportunity to visit and learn about the history of the lighthouse and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Rock Island and the lake.
