Occupying a 1,600-acre property on the St. Croix River, Afton State Park is an easily accessible park that offers plenty of recreational activities. The river is home to more than 100 species of fish, including large populations of bass and crappies that draw fishermen from all over the state, and there's also a sandy swimming beach. If you want to stretch your legs, you can do so on the park's 20 miles of hiking trails.
