Tuckerton is one of Ocean County's most quaint tourist destinations, known for its lovely Tuckerton Seaport maritime village and museum complex.

The museum, which was opened to the public in 2000, is home to a variety of recreated and restored historic buildings, which are connected to one another via a boardwalk and wetlands nature trail that are open for self-guided tours.

The seaport's visitors center showcases a plethora of exhibits on the wildlife and ecosystems of the Jersey Shore and the nearby Barnegat Bay Estuary. Historic buildings that can be explored within the complex include the Periwinkle and Skinner-Donnelly houseboats, the relocated Tucker's Island Lighthouse, and the 1699 Andrews-Bartlett Home.
