For a 24-hour diner, Lost Lake Cafe & Lounge is surprisingly upscale. The charming, colorful mid-century decor, paintings on the walls, bright light, and tables on the sidewalk make Lost Lake attractive to all sorts of clientele, from young and hip to tired truckers after a long shift. One of the few places on Capitol Hill open 24 hours, Lost Lake is very popular, but the food they serve also has a lot to do with it. They offer breakfast 24 hours a day and what they consider breakfast food covers just about everything. Some outstanding delights include the Lost Lake French Toast, which includes Bailey’s, Frangelico, Kahlua, and Grand Marnier. The lunch menu is equally rich and they offer a nice range of local craft beers and cocktails to go with it.
