If you really want to get to know the music, food and culture of the Appalachia’s, a visit to Floyd Country Store is a must. In the 1980’s, Floyd Country Store started hosting a Friday Night Jamboree, a community event where people come to enjoy the talents of traditional Appalachian musicians and dancers. Today the store still continues its music and dance traditions, as well as selling a wide range of country-store items including locally produced cakes, pies, preserves and general goods. The Café serves delicious salads, sandwiches and other delights all prepared using locally sourced produce and the traditional Soda Fountain offers a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
