At 2,600-feet-tall, the Antone Mountain peak is the tallest one in the entire Merck Forest and Farmland Center of southern Vermont.
The land on which the mountain is located is actually a non-profit environmental education organization, so visitors can knock themselves out from dawn to dusk at no cost. Climbing and hiking is, of course, the main draw of Antone Mountain, but in the winter snowshoeing is equally fun and the cross-country skiing is fantastic as well.
