The popular tourist village of Murren is picture-book perfect and offers everything you could possibly expect from an alpine village in Switzerland. It is a little complicated to reach Murren since there are no roads to this perfect little pedestrian village – access is via train to Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen, followed by a cable-car ride and another train – allow about 3 hours to get there. Once you reach Murren you can go hiking along your choice of 200km of trails, take a funicular ride up the mountain to Allmendhubel, discover the Flower Panorama Trail or have a mountain picnic. If you visit in winter you can spend the day skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing in a pristine winter wonderland.
