Review:

Alappuzha, or the “Venice of the East” as many refer to it, is a region containing boundless natural beauty. With the Arabian Sea to the west and a collection of lagoons, freshwater rivers, and lakes crisscrossing it, Alappuzha is home to a variety of dynamic animal and avian life. This backwater country is known for its beaches, boat races, coir industry, and marine products. Vembanad, India’s second largest lagoon; Ambalappuzha Sri Krishna Temple, a 13th century Hindu temple and monastery dedicated to Lord Krishna; and Krishnapuram Palace, an 18th century Kerala-style king’s palace are among the attractions. The palace features a museum exhibiting historical artifacts.
