Review:
Caputos has become a Salt Lake City institution over the past two decades, originally opened in 1997 in the city's historic Greek-Italian neighborhood by its namesake Tony Caputo. The cafe and deli is one of the city's most popular quick-casual lunch spots, serving up high-quality sandwiches prepared with fine imported meats and cheeses. Sandwich options range from traditional muffalettas and pastramis to concoctions such as the Soprano, which pairs Cacio de Roma cheese with roasted red pepper spread, balsamic vinegar, and capocollo. Fine olive oils and vinegars are also sold, along with regional delicacies such as gourmet chocolates by Chocolatier Blue. Classes and workshops with food artisans are held regularly, focusing on topics such as meat curing and wine tasting.
