The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum is a railroad museum in Chattanooga that was created in order to preserve and protect historical steam locomotives and equipment from the railway. The museum operates a heritage railway that allows visitors to experience the history of the railroad by participating in a 6-mile round-trip train ride pulled by steam locomotive. These train rides are the only of their kind in the state of Tennessee. A number of notable locomotives and other pieces of rolling stock can be seen at the museum, as can exhibits related to the development and history of the railroad, specifically in the Tennessee Valley region.
