Surfside Beach is a small beach town about 60 miles from Houston, between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico. The town has more than 4 miles of beaches popular for horseback riding and walking.

There are very few services on the beach and there are signs about the water quality, so check before going swimming.

The pedestrian beach between Welk St. and Thunder St. has free parking at both edges, but the rest of the beach permits cars.
