Review & FAQ:
Theatre Coppell is a 124-seat community theater located in a former firehouse in Coppell, Texas. The theatre was established in 1980 by a group of volunteers under the name Coppell Community Theatre and under the guidance of Wheelice Wilson Jr., a theatre teacher at Coppell High School. The theatre was presenting comedies, dramas and musicals at schools and other locations in the area. The first two shows were “Mostly Music” and “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” In 1999, the City of Coppell converted an unused fire station to the Coppell Center for the Arts, where Theatre Coppell now works. Ms. Wilson Jr. is now the artistic director, responsible for selecting shows, organizing volunteers and directing most of the shows. The show presents six shows each season - several family-friendly options, one musical and one or more production with young cast members.
