Spring Creek Greenway is a 10-foot wide paved hike, bike and horseback riding trail in Spring, Harris County, stretching over 40 miles of green space through the forest on the south side of Spring Creek. The greenway offers great opportunity for cycling, hiking, jogging and wildlife viewing, through the parts of the Piney Woods or along natural sloughs and sand beaches by the creek. Lush greenery makes it is difficult to believe that you are actually in the city. The greenway links six Harris County parks and has several trailheads. While Spring Creek is not actually a river, in some places is as wide as San Jacinto River and exploring it from a canoe or kayak offers spectacular views of magnolias, river birches, red bay trees and black willows, with hundreds of species of birds and diverse wildlife.
