The Greenway Farms is a unique city park in Hixson, spanning 180 acres along the banks of beautiful North Chickamauga Creek near Highway 153. The park, which is overseen by the City of Chattanooga, offers more than six miles of lovely trails for runners, hikers, and cyclists to enjoy throughout the year. Trails include the lovely Boy Scout Trail, which meanders up a challenging route along the side of Big Ridge, and the mixed-use Greenway Trail, which spans dirt and mowed grass sections. A 2.5-mile stretch of the creek is open to the public for canoe access at three points, with canoes and kayaks available for rental from Outdoor Chattanooga. Other amenities include an off-leash dog park, a rental farmhouse space, and public restroom facilities.

Vinterest Antiques has been voted as Chattanooga's best antique store each year since its opening in 2015, housed within a spacious 16,000-square-foot warehouse facility in Hixson. The antique mall is home to more than 100 local artisans and vendors, which sell unique home goods and locally-made artisan products. It was opened by married duo Paul and Kat Schurer, the founders of Huntsville, Alabama's popular University Pickers antique mall and flea market. Visitors can talk to local artisans and sellers at their miniature store booths throughout the week and peruse a wide variety of antique and vintage goods, including furniture, home decor, pottery, and handmade organic bath and beauty products.
