Leonard Harrison State Park is a 585-acre park located about ten miles from Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, on the east rim of the Pine Creek Gorge. The gorge, which is cut by Pine Creek through five rock formations, is 800 feet deep and nearly 4,000 feet across and is known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. Leonard Harrison State Park offers fantastic views of the gorge and is a popular destination for hiking, fishing, hunting, whitewater boating and camping. Pine Creek Path used to run along the creek and has been originally used by native Americans and later by lumbermen. Eventually the path became the course of a railroad. The 63.4-mile Pine Creek Rail Trail has followed the creek through the park since 1996.

The Pine Creek Rail Trail runs across the Appalachian Mountains of north-central Pennsylvania. It starts just north of Wellsboro, goes south through Pine Creek Gorge and ends at Jersey Shore. The 65-mile-long trail is considered one of the best bike tours in the world. The trail parallels Route 6 for about six miles until it reaches Ansonia. From Ansonia, the trail parallels Pine Creek along the floor of Pine Creek Gorge. It then passes through Leonard Harrison State Park and the Tioga State Forest. Approximately 17 mile south of Ansonia, the trail passes through the village of Blackwell, through a remote area inaccessible by road. South of Blackwell, the trail enters Lycoming County and the Tiadaghton State Forest. The trail’s southern terminus is in Jersey Shore.

Hills Creek State Park is a 407-acre park near Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, in the Allegheny Plateau region. In the heart of the p ark is a 137-acre Hills Creek Lake. Hills Creek State Park was opened in 1953 on the land previously used as a pigment mine for the paint industry. The park is named for Hills Creek which runs through. The creek was dammed to make Hills Creek Lake. The area around the lake used to be flooded before the dam was built. It is still full of beavers. The lake is full of fish including walleye, yellow perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and many other species. In the winter, the lake is used for ice fishing. There Is a sandy beach on the lake but there is no lifeguard. Sailboats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboats are permitted on the lake, as well as boats with electric motors. Hills Creek State Park has a 102-site camping area. There are quaint cottages and yurts for rent. The park has plenty of wildlife, including a large colony of beavers, muskrats, wood ducks, great blue herons, ospreys, bald eagles, black bears wild turkeys, white tailed deer and others.

Colton Point State Park is a 368-acre park in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The park is located on the west side of the Pine Creek Gorge. The park stretches from the creek in the bottom of the gorge to the rim and across part of the plateau to the west. Colton Point State Park has spectacular views of the Pine Creek Gorge, and is a popular destination for picnicking, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating and camping. The park is surrounded by Tioga State Forest and Leonard Harrison State Park on the east rim of the gorge. Since 1996, the 62-mile Pine Creek Rail Trail has followed the creek through the gorge. The Pine Creek Gorge was clearcut in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and it is now covered by second-growth forest. The park was opened in 1936 and quickly became a popular tourist destination,.
