Sugarloaf Knobis the highest peak in Ohiopyle State Park at 2,667 feet. Near Sugarloaf Knob is the Laurel Ridge, which is higher, but does not have any peaks. The summit is densely forested, so the view is obstructed. There are four trails heading up in a loop, but none of them goes all the way up to the summit. The Sugarloaf Trail is a 3.8-mile fairly difficult trail with the trailhead near the park’s visitor center. You will gain 800 feet in elevation in only two steep segments of the trail. The trail links to the main trail near Sugarloaf Knob. Hiking Sugarloaf Knob is only one of many fun things to do in the Ohiopyle Park, which is perfect for biking, hiking, whitewater rafting, and much else.
