Portland’s Kennedy School Hotel was once a historical elementary school. Original elements of the school, including architectural details, chalkboards, and cloakrooms, are part of the decor. Located in the old school’s little girl’s room, the hotel’s Concordia Brewery produces a variety of beers, from hoppy IPAs to seasonal selections. The hotel also contains other school-themed bars, including the Detention Bar, a perfect place for a bourbon, or the Theater Bar, located in the lobby of the hotel’s movie theater. Definitely a unique experience, the McMenamins Kennedy School Hotel’s events calendar features everything from vaudeville shows to opera performances.
